How the Free Meal Works
On Veterans Day, veterans and active-duty military visit their local Texas Roadhouse (typically during late-morning/lunch hours) with proof of service — a military ID, veteran ID, or discharge papers.
In recent years the format has been a free meal voucher handed out in person, redeemable for a dine-in or To-Go meal on a later visit — so even if you can't stay for lunch, you still get the meal.
What's on the Free Menu
The Veterans Day menu typically includes about 10 full entrées with two sides and a drink — options like the 6 oz Sirloin, Country Fried Chicken or Sirloin, Grilled BBQ Chicken, Pulled Pork Dinner and Chicken Critters.
Military Discounts the Rest of the Year
Outside of Veterans Day, many locations extend a military discount at manager discretion — just ask your server and show your military ID.
